Tunes-n-Tales Programs for Toddlers and Pre-Schoolers

tn_mothergooseMother Goose

As Mother Goose, Anne-Marie enchants children with lively songs, fingerplays, and movement activities that bring nursery rhymes to life. Using puppets she also tells a version of the Gingerbread Man which ends with a twist, challenging the children to recall and describe geometric shapes. Additionally children are encouraged to explore musical concepts such as pitch, dynamics and tempo in a thumb story about Jack and Jill. This program is designed to support emergent literacy objectives, listening skills and creative thinking.

Mother Nature greets the children with a song about the ways different creatures communicate. Especially designed to promote environmental awareness and appreciation for nature, the program may include an original pour quoi story about why rabbits have long ears and short tails, an anthropomorphic tale about a very self-centered caterpillar, or the tale of a little tree and what he learns as he grows and changes with the seasons. Children are given the opportunity to discuss fact and fiction after hearing these tales and share ideas about how they can help Mother Nature take care of the earth.

Celebrate winter and the holidays with songs and stories. Mrs.Claus shares an original story about a mouse named Holly who meets Santa. Mrs. Frost tells the story of a little girl named Annie and her lost mitten. Both programs include dancing with scarves to Tchaikovsky Sugar Plum Fairy or Vivaldi’s Winter Suite, playing rhythm sticks and bells to “Sleigh Ride” and singing seasonal favorites.

Tunes-n-Tales for Tots

A program just for the toddlers. Includes songs, fingerplays, movement activities and rhythm instrument play. Most pre-school and Kindegarten programs are 45 minutes. I usually perform in the classroom because it is a familiar space which helps the children focus more successfully on my stories and its activities. Plus I can interact more effectively with each child. I will perform up to four programs in a day and as long as my recommended audience size of 30 to 35 is not exceeded, classes may be combined. Toddler programs are 30 minutes and audience size limited to 15. Special pricing for toddler programs is available to schools who also book one or more pre-school programs.
